Test for Hashimoto’s Thyroid

To make it simple, there is a test for Hashimoto’s Thyroid on blood work.  Actually, there are two:  thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPO), thyroglobulin antibody (TGAb).

Even though most MD’s do not order these tests, they are very important.  In fact, a common complaint that I hear from patients is that their Endocrinologist doesn’t even want to order these tests.

Why Don’t Doctors Order the Test for Hashimoto’s Thyroid?

My opinion is that the tests do not change what the do for treatment….more medications.  For instance, even if they do order the test, they will typically keep prescribing medications for low thyroid.   These meds include Synthroid and Levothyroxine.  However, a problem usually occurs at this point.  The patient may describe that they don’t feel any different after a few months or even years on the medications.  What is missing?

You Have to Find the Cause

In fact, Find the Cause Facebook page  is named that way for a reason.  It means nothing to just check the antibodies and do nothing about it.  Do you want to keep experiencing all your symptoms?  If you do, then I do not have much to offer you.  Just keep on doing the same thing and expecting a different result.  However, if you are frustrated and at the point where you want answers and want your life back, we can help.

The first thing you need to do is take our 1st Step Quiz.  It will help identify what is causing the problem.  It is free for now ($75 value).
